I've been playing guitar since I was ten. I think I'm getting the hang of it now.

I've played in several indie bands around Melbourne over the years and am currently playing electric guitar and singing backing vocals with Molasses

I'm fairly handy at bluegrass flat picking in the style of Norman Blake and Doc Watson. I once took six months off work to sit in Paul Wookey's kitchen. We practiced picking fiddle tunes eight hours a day and drank a lot of tea. Paul is a Golden Guitar award winner. He knows a thing or two about bluegrass.

Every Thursday for fifteen years I have attended a rehearsal with the world's greatest garage jazz band. I started out on electric bass, moved to double bass and for the last few years I've played guitar. The band has never really had a name and the lineup is fairly flexible. This week we have tenor sax, vocals, drums and guitar. In the absence of a bass player I'm working hard to perfect my Joe Pass impersonation.
